Charissa Thompson doesn’t often speak in grand gestures. But in the moments that matter—especially the ones involving Erin Andrews—she doesn’t need to. Over the years, their friendship has unfolded publicly through broadcasts, podcasts, and interviews, but its foundation was built off-camera. So when Andrews marked a personal milestone that had been years in the making, Thompson responded in a way that felt understated to most, but unmistakably personal to anyone who understands what it took to get there.
Erin Andrews recently posted photos of her family enjoying Mack’s first magical day at Disneyland. The Snapshots showed moments of pure joy. From Mack meeting Minnie Mouse, to the family posing in front of Sleeping Beauty’s castle. Andrews captioned the Instagram post: “Mack went to @Disneyland for the first time and it was perfect. We can’t thank @DisneyParks enough for making the experience so magical. Memories cherished for a lifetime.”

Among the flood of comments, Charissa Thomson’s stands out. Her two-word response, “My Family,” isn’t just a casual remark. It reflects years of friendship and emotional investment in Andrews’ life. As co-hosts of the Calm Down podcast – and with their history of sports broadcasting with Fox Sports – Andrews and Thompson have built a relationship that goes beyond their professional lives. Their friendship is a cornerstone of their lives, with Thompson often celebrating Andrews’ milestones as if they were her own. Especially Andrews’ journey into motherhood.
On their podcast, they often share unfiltered stories about their lives, including Andrews’ candid discussions about balancing motherhood with her demanding career. In the Episode 315 of the Calm Down podcast, Andrews opened up about the struggles of managing work life balance, and her son Mack, “we worked so hard to have Mac and you know, it took us forever to have him, and then we faced a lot of loss, and then he finally came. I had this attitude that I was going to be like, well, you know, I have this career and it’s this is the way it’s going to be. And then he starts talking and realizing you’re leaving, and it was just really really hard.”
Things haven’t been easy for Erin Andrews, that’s for sure. But she is a fighter, and with Charissa’s support and enthusiasm, Mack’s first Disneyland trip feels like a fairytale of its own accord.
Erin Andrews’ struggles, and Mack’s Disneyland Trip
For Erin Andrews and Jarret Stoll, taking Mack to Disneyland wasn’t just a fun outing. It was a dream come true after years of struggle. After enduring nine years of IVF treatments, cervical cancer surgery, and heartbreaking losses, Andrews welcomed Mack via surrogacy in 2023. Thompson has been by her side through it all, making her comment on Mack’s milestone even more poignant. Mack represents a hope fulfilled for the couple, and the trip? Another milestone in their journey as parents.
In the episode 315 – Calm Down podcast – Andrews further speaks about her fears, “I feel like I am not giving one hundred percent of myself to my son or my job or my you know, clothing line or all that, and I don’t. I feel like I am barely above water.” Andrew also stated that Charissa supported her “she did a great job this year. Trying to tell me, look, your kid’s gonna love it.” Charissa, ever the good friend, said, “you came on TV and he’s in his high chair and he’s pointing at you. He knows who you are. It’s very very sweet. ”.
